At the initiative of the editorial office of the People’s Daily (Jen-min Jih-pao) of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, from October 22 to November 2 this year, an international forum of journalists under the slogan “One Belt, One Road” was held in China.

At the initiative of the editorial office of the People’s Daily (Jen-min Jih-pao) of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, from October 22 to November 2 this year, an international forum of journalists under the slogan “One Belt, One Road” was held in China. It was also attended by creative staff of Uzbekistan National News Agency.

The forum was attended by representatives of 90 countries and international organizations, heads of more than 200 mass media, journalists writing on international and economic themes, over 250 honored guests, diplomats, experts from international think tanks.

Journalists discussed the “One Belt, One Road” railway and highway project along the Great Silk Road from the East to the West, challenges facing the world media on highlighting implementation of this mega-project, as well as cooperation of journalists.

According to the Secretary-General of China Public Diplomacy Association Zhao Xiyuan, over the past five years, China’s trade turnover with states along the “One Belt, One Road” amounted to $5 trillion. And the volume of its investments in foreign countries exceeded 70 billion dollars.

At the conference, it was noted that one of the meetings of the international forum “One Belt, One Road” will be held in Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the international forum, the journalists attended a reception at the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

An article devoted to transformations taking place in Uzbekistan was published in the People’s Daily newspaper. The Chinese audience warmly welcomed this article. Within the framework of the forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Uzbekistan National News Agency and People’s Daily newspaper.

Issue of organizing “One Belt, One Road” research center at Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies with participation of Chinese specialists is being considered.

An agreement was reached on continuous exchange of information between the mass media about new Great Silk Roads, preparation of literary journalistic collection, its publication and distribution in 6 languages.
