NBU expands cooperation with the Silk Road Fund to finance infrastructure projects
During the high-level visit of the Uzbekistan delegation led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to Hong Kong SAR, the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan JSC and the Silk Road Fund agreed to finance key infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan, with a total funding of up to $395 million.
The agreement was signed during the 11th Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong on September 9-10 this year, serving as a key platform to discuss new investment and financial cooperation opportunities.
As agreed, the parties will collaborate to identify, evaluate, and organize promising infrastructure projects for future financing using long-term credit lines from the Silk Road Fund.
Special attention will be paid to projects that modernize transport infrastructure, such as building modern toll expressways.
The agreements align with the goals of the 2026 State Investment Program, which involves NBU securing up to $1.5 billion from top international financial institutions to support key projects in Uzbekistan.
