An international event dedicated to the essence and significance of the national goals and objectives of sustainable development in Uzbekistan was held at Radisson Blue Hotel in Tashkent.

An international event dedicated to the essence and significance of the national goals and objectives of sustainable development in Uzbekistan was held at Radisson Blue Hotel in Tashkent.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UN Office in the country, was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, the civil sector, international financial institutions, UN agencies, the diplomatic corps.

It should be noted that Sustainable Development Goals, also known as the Global Goals, are a universal program aimed at eradicating poverty, protecting the planet, as well as ensuring peace and prosperity for all people. The program includes 17 goals and 169 tasks to be achieved by 2030. Along with all UN member countries in September 2015, this program was approved by Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that the program, implemented with the support of the UN, provides for a set of goals and objectives of the economic, social and environmental areas. Presentation of the roadmap on organization of implementation of the National goals and objectives for the period up to 2030 took place at the event.

Following the event, opinions and suggestions regarding the discussed issues were expressed.
