
As part of the ongoing 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tashkent, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Nuriddin Ismoilov, is holding meetings with representatives of parliaments from various countries. The discussions focus on the prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.
During a meeting with a delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, it was noted that the partnership between Uzbekistan and Georgia is steadily advancing across all areas. Particular attention is being given to supporting the development of business, tourism, and logistics.

The sides also discussed the exchange of experience between Uzbekistan and Georgia in lawmaking. It was emphasized that the anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union is essential for analyzing inter-parliamentary collaboration’s current and future priorities.
In turn, Shalva Papuashvili emphasized Uzbekistan’s balanced, open, and constructive foreign policy, as well as the large-scale reforms carried out in recent years under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and their tangible results. He stated that continuing practical meetings and further expanding and strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue will serve the interests of both sides.

The guest also drew attention to Uzbekistan’s growing international standing and noted that the summit has provided a significant opportunity to advance meaningful initiatives.
