As part of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a meeting was held between the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Nuriddin Ismoilov, and the Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, Mohammad Reza Majidi.
During the dialogue, it was noted that in recent years, cooperation between the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the parliaments of Asian countries has been steadily developing, and parliaments play an essential role in implementing agreements reached at various levels.
In turn, Mohammad Reza Majidi highly praised the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan. He noted that hosting the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tashkent holds great significance for Uzbekistan and all of Asia. He emphasized that this prestigious event plays an essential role in the development of Uzbekistan’s diplomacy, foreign policy, and inter-parliamentary relations, adding that there are very few countries in Asia where such events are held.
“Uzbekistan’s rich historical heritage, contribution to ancient civilization, and open policy deserve special recognition. We are interested in continuing long-term cooperation based on mutual respect and trust, taking into account the national interests of Uzbekistan”, Mohammad Reza Majidi said.
