With growing public mobility and the rapid development of tourism in Khorezm region, transport services are also being improved. To this end, the company Bunyod Yo‘lovchi Tashish is purchasing 80 modern buses for nearly $8 million. As of now, 50 of them have already been delivered.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the conditions created to enhance public convenience during his visit to the region.

The new buses comply with Euro-5 environmental standards and are designed to accommodate 70 passengers. Their low-floor design makes them easily accessible for elderly individuals and people with disabilities. Additionally, the buses are equipped with Wi-Fi and video surveillance systems. Residents have expressed satisfaction with the improved comfort and accessibility of the city’s public transportation.

Previously, each small-capacity bus served 200-300 passengers per day, whereas the new buses can accommodate up to 1,000 passengers daily. Bus intervals have been reduced by half, to 5-12 minutes, raising public transport usage in Urgench to 38 percent.

Most importantly, the improved conditions help eliminate transport shortages and reduce traffic congestion, ensuring more effortless mobility for residents.

To expand coverage in areas with limited access to public transport, the delivery of an additional 30 buses is planned soon.

The Head of state instructed the efficient integration of districts into the public transport system, the optimization of routes for greater convenience, and the focus on road maintenance, driver training, and the enhancement of technical service quality. It was noted that all these measures are key to extending the operational life of the buses.
