
The international forum MINEX Central Asia 2025 was held in Tashkent from June 24 to 26.
The event, organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, brought together representatives from over 15 countries.
The forum featured several sessions, including: “Mining and Environmental Reclamation after the Development of Mining Sites”, “Uranium – the Energy Source of the Future”, “Scientific Cooperation and the Development of Human Capital”, and “Optimization of Mining Production – Best Practices and Technologies”.
During the session titled “Uranium – the Energy Source of the Future”, participants exchanged views on the development of the uranium industry in accordance with ESG requirements, safety assurance in the sector, the investment climate, and prospects for the advancement of nuclear technologies.
Discussions also covered innovations being introduced in Uzbekistan in the extraction, processing, and export of uranium, as well as plans to implement modern technologies within the framework of international partnerships.
Azam Qodirkhodjayev, Rector of the University of Geological Sciences, speaking at the session “Scientific Cooperation and the Development of Human Capital”, provided information on the reforms being implemented at the university, participation in international scientific projects, and innovative approaches used in training modern geologists.
Issues such as the allocation of grants for young scientists, the organization of internship programs, and the strengthening of cooperation with foreign specialists were also addressed at the session.
