As part of a working visit to Malaysia, a delegation led by Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with one of the country’s leading think tanks, the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS Malaysia).

According to the Development Strategy Center, ISIS Malaysia was established in April 1983 as an independent, non-profit research organization. The institute researches foreign and social policy, security, economics, governance, technology, innovation, and environmental issues. 

The Uzbekistan delegation met with Lee Heng Guie, Executive Director of Malaysia’s Socio-Economic Research Center. He emphasized that Uzbekistan and Malaysia are keen to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation. As leaders in economic development within their respective regions, the two countries see great potential for expanding cooperation within the “Central Asia + ASEAN” platform. 

Eldor Tulyakov informed Malaysian partners about Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms, progress under the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, and the activities of the Development Strategy Center. 

The delegation also met with Zamri Bin Haji Bakar, Chief Registrar of the Federal Court of Malaysia. The parties emphasized the importance of cooperation and knowledge exchange in the judicial sector. Malaysia’s side highly praised Uzbekistan’s judicial reforms, recognizing the quick progress. Mr. Tulyakov provided insights into the ongoing efforts to strengthen judicial independence in Uzbekistan. 

Both parties agreed to collaborate in areas of mutual interest actively.
