Meetings of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly delegation
The Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted meetings with a delegation led by the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli.
The Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted meetings with a delegation led by the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli.
The current state of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and plans for the future were discussed at the meetings.
As the parties noted, strengthening of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE contributes to development of relations with the organization’s member countries, conveying to the world community the essence and significance of democratic reforms implemented in the country.
Members of the delegation also visited the lower house of parliament.
Representatives of the delegation noted the obvious results of large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan, which, in turn, have a positive effect on the situation in the region.
It was emphasized that expansion of close cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which unites 57 countries, is mutually beneficial for both parties.
During the conversation, which was held in a constructive and open spirit, issues of further strengthening relations of Uzbekistan with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly were analyzed in detail. New areas of cooperation were outlined.
