On November 21, 2018, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilhomjon Nematov met with the UN Under-Secretary-General, Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva Michael Møller.

On November 21, 2018, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilhomjon Nematov met with the UN Under-Secretary-General, Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva Michael Møller, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the Asian Forum on Human Rights, which will be held in Samarkand on November 22.

Current issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, prospects of their development were discussed. It was noted that profound political and economic changes in Uzbekistan create new conditions for strengthening cooperation. 

The UN representative welcomed regional policy promoted by Uzbekistan, great attention paid to development of political, trade-economic, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian ties with neighboring countries.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the sides also considered practical aspects of the forthcoming joint activities.

The meeting was attended by the UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Helena Fraser.
