Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Tomáš Petříček, in India.

On January 15, 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Tomáš Petříček, in India.

The ministers discussed the state and prospects of Uzbekistan – Czech cooperation in the formats “Uzbekistan – European Union”, “Visegrád Group – Central Asia”, as well as exchanged views on pressing issues of international and regional politics.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, special attention, at the meeting, was paid to practical aspects of preparing for the planned summit at the highest level.

Priority areas of cooperation in trade-economic and investment spheres were considered. It was emphasized that the intensification of contacts in this area will expand the range of mutual deliveries and increase the volume of trade, create new modern joint ventures.

Rich experience, traditions and significant potential of both countries in the tourism industry, as noted, open up new opportunities for expanding cooperation in this area. In this context, the importance of introducing a 30-day visa-free regime for entry into Uzbekistan for Czech citizens from February 1, 2019 was emphasized.

The parties also considered effective mechanisms for further expanding partnership within international organizations.
