On April, 13, 2016, in Tashkent, within the framework of the meeting of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO Member States, the Secretary of Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan V.Makhmudov met with the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization R.Alimov.

The sides discussed the issues of the development of cooperation of the SCO Member States in the sphere of security, the preparation process for the following Tashkent Summit of the SCO Council of Heads of States to take place in June 2016 as well as the other major events of the organization for the current year.

On his behalf, the SCO Secretary-General noted that the current chairmanship of Uzbekistan and the documents planned to be signed during the meeting of the Council of Heads of States should set the milestone in 15-year history of the organization and bring multilateral cooperation to a new level.
