Meeting with Minister Karin Kneissl in Brussels

On November 22, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria Karin Kneissl, in Brussels.
The Foreign Ministers noted with satisfaction productive nature of the meeting of “Uzbekistan – European Union” Cooperation Council, which made it possible to identify priority areas for further development of cooperation.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the state and prospects of strengthening bilateral relations, expanding Uzbekistan – Austria agenda, primarily, in trade-economic and investment spheres.
It was noted that regular inter-MFA contacts and meetings at other levels make it possible to step up inter-state cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis and encourage exchanges between representatives of business community, scientific-educational institutions, representatives of culture and art.
In this regard, the Ministers supported opening of a joint faculty of bachelor's degree in such popular modern specialties as “Export-oriented management” and “Tourism and hotel management” at Tashkent State University of Economics in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences of Austria.
The Ministers also discussed other issues of international and regional policy.
