Director of the International Institute for Central Asia, Javlon Vakhabov, held an online meeting with the Chief Programme Officer of CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation in Finland, Oskari Eronen.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to establishing partnerships and identifying potential forms of cooperation.
Oskari Eronen spoke about the main goals and objectives of the institution. According to him, the organization’s primary mission is to develop practical proposals for conflict prevention through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Finnish side highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s proactive activities in strengthening good-neighborly relations in Central Asia, shaping regional identity, and ensuring recognition of the international subjectivity of the region.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in priority areas of research to maintain expert support for the dialogue between the EU and Central Asia, as well as within the framework of promoting Uzbekistan’s relations with the Scandinavian countries.
