Director of the National Center of Uzbekistan for Human Rights Akmal Saidov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama.

The sides emphasized that the meeting was held within the framework of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan, and noted the desire of the two countries to consistently develop cooperation in all spheres.

Joint efforts on attracting investments of Japanese companies in Uzbekistan’s economy, strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, as well as projects in socio-economic, cultural-humanitarian and tourism spheres are yielding positive results. Both countries focus on further development of cooperation.

Ambassador's attention was also drawn to the initiative of the Center on Draft Publication of the Constitution of Japan in Japanese and Uzbek languages. At the moment, it has been translated into Uzbek, accompanied by an explanatory dictionary and a final article.

The sides also exchanged views on the issue of publishing an illustrated book dedicated to the memory of the eminent Japanese scientist and public figure, owner of Dustlik (Friendship) Order, Kyudzo Kato.

Issues of exchanging experience in mutually beneficial promising areas, in particular, in ensuring human rights, education, culture, expansion of cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
