Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Special Envoy for Afghanistan Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian Fard.

On November 11, 2019, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Special Envoy for Afghanistan Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian Fard.

Views were exchanged on the current situation in Afghanistan and peaceful political process in that country.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the Iranian side was informed about Uzbekistan's efforts on resolving the Afghan problem, priority directions of Uzbekistan’s policy on economic reconstruction of Afghanistan.

The Iranian diplomat praised the policy pursued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on broad integration of Afghanistan into the regional process, providing practical assistance to full implementation of various infrastructure projects initiated by Uzbekistan.

Taking into account the importance of peaceful resolution of the Afghan problem, Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian Fard noted the need for consolidating efforts of the countries of the region in this direction.
