First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov met with ECO Secretary General Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour, in Antalya, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The sides exchanged views on the issues included in the agenda of the 24th ECO Council of Ministers Meeting.

Head of Uzbekistan delegation noted the priority of development of economic cooperation, in particular in such areas as trade, investment, development of transport-communication and tourism potential of the region. Uzbekistan is stepping up economic cooperation with neighboring countries, and in this regard, expressed readiness to establish a mutually beneficial and regular dialogue also within the framework of the ECO.

It was noted that Uzbekistan supports the diversification of transport routes, including creation of Trans-Afghan transit corridor with access to seaports.

Other current issues of Uzbekistan's participation in the organization were also discussed during the negotiations.
