Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Wencai Zhang visited Westminster International University in Tashkent and met with teachers and students of this higher education institution.

At the meeting, plans for comprehensive strengthening cooperation between ADB and Uzbekistan, implementation of promising projects were discussed. Views were exchanged on possibilities of further improving living standards of the population of Uzbekistan, supporting business, modernization of agricultural sector, development of road-transport infrastructure, alternative energy.

Issues of establishing bilateral cooperation within the framework of ADB’s long-term strategy were also considered at the meeting.

Wencai Zhang highly assessed the education system at the university, and the created conditions for students. It was emphasized that great success is being achieved in Uzbekistan in all spheres, including in humanitarian area.

Within the framework of the event, reports were heard on regional cooperation and economic opportunities of Uzbekistan.
