An exhibition of Uzbekistan – China Cultural Exchange “Masterpieces of Nature of Uzbekistan and China” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, has kicked off at the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change together with the Academy of Arts, the State Museum of Art, the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company Limited and Shanghai Construction Group. It was attended by the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili, representatives of ministries and agencies of the country, cultural and artistic figures, entrepreneurs, artists, teachers and students of art colleges and universities from China and Uzbekistan, media workers.
“Uzbekistan and China have established effective cooperative relations in all areas”, Mr. Abdukhakimov said at the opening ceremony. “The Belt and Road Initiative is a huge international platform that promotes the consistent development of Uzbekistan – China relations and strategic partnership in all areas, including industry, energy, infrastructure, transport, logistics, agriculture, tourism, education and others. Cultural exchange of experience is significant for Uzbekistan and China artists”.
“Uzbekistan and China play an important role in the activities of the World Tourism Organization”, Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili noted. “In particular, the 25th anniversary session of the UNWTO General Assembly was recently held in Samarkand. I am glad that relations between the two countries in tourism are developing increasingly, and today’s event is another important step in strengthening bilateral ties”.
The exhibition, which will be presented in Tashkent and Samarkand, includes 40 paintings by Chinese artists depicting the natural heritage of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that for the exhibition in September this year, plein airs were organized by outstanding artists from the two countries. From September 20 to October 5, 20 professional Chinese artists arrived in Tashkent to create works reflecting the natural heritage of Uzbekistan. During the plein airs, they visited Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions.
In turn, 20 artists from Uzbekistan went to China to create masterpieces reflecting the nature, traditions, and sights of China.
The created works of art will be exhibited in prestigious museums and exhibition halls in Uzbekistan and China. It is also planned to create conditions for the purchase of paintings by patrons and art connoisseurs.
