Tashkent hosted an international conference on “Non-state media of Uzbekistan: stages of development and prospects”, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the National Association of Electronic Mass Media.

It was attended by deputies, representatives of ministries, departments, public organizations, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic corps accredited in the country, non-state media structures.

At the conference, reports on “Children and the mass media: prospects for media education in Uzbekistan”, “Development of independent journalism: the experience and practice of Uzbekistan”, “The mass media, government and civil society: towards a balance of interests” were discussed in detail.

On the same day, the results of cooperation between the National Association of Electronic Mass Media and Uzbekistan Youth Union were discussed in detail at the youth media forum organized at the conference.

At the eleventh national festival “Ozod yurt tulqinlari”, organized by the association and partner organizations, winners in various nominations were determined. Employees of the most active non-state media structures were awarded.
