Malatya is a city with a developed economy.

The population is engaged in agriculture. Unfortunately, due to the earthquake last spring, everyone was left without a harvest. But life in Malatya goes on. To eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster, the government and people united and implemented reforms within a year.

On the third day of the trip to Türkiye, journalists participated in events in Malatya, met with the head of the province, and received information about the residential facilities being built and the assistance provided to the population. It was noted that aid for 6.1 billion liras was provided to citizens affected by the earthquake. Elimination of the consequences of the earthquake continues. The tremors did not damage hospitals in Malatya, but destroyed two schools and damaged 46. The renovation of 1,600 offices is ongoing, and 500 offices are ready for use.

Particular attention is paid to supporting small businesses, farmers, and artisans. Eleven thousand stores are being built on 313 hectares. The state allocated 695 million liras to farmers and 2 billion liras to artisans.

Multi-storey buildings are being built in Gelinciktepe. In the coming days, the keys to the apartments will be given by drawing lots to citizens who have lost their housing. During the conversation, some residents said with tears in their eyes that they had lost loved ones, and some had lost their homes. But the most important thing is that none of them lost hope.

In the temporary housing containers provided, women sew, and boys do sports in the fitness club. In the new town where the residents of Malatya live, there is an atmosphere of peace of mind and gratitude. In their free time, the boys play football. Perhaps these children, united by a common misfortune, will become a team in the future and play for the Turkish national football team.
