Uzbekistan is holding elections for deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and Local Councils.

International observers and representatives of foreign media are directly monitoring the electoral process.

The Director of the Centre of Information and Arabian-Russian Studies of Saudi Arabia Dr Majed Al Turki expressed his opinion regarding the voting process.

“This is the fourth polling station that I have visited to observe the voting process”, said Dr Majed Al Turki. “The elections were organized at a high level, within the framework of the law. All conditions have been created so that voters can vote freely. The registration and ballot-filling process fully comply with international electoral standards.
