Drugs are a serious problem for humanity, which threatens not only individual health, but also the entire society. Any intoxicants are usually closely related to crime, violence, and other social problems. Their use leads to many crimes, including theft, murder, and drug trafficking.

Individuals under the influence of drugs often put their own lives at risk, which also affects their families and people around them. This problem is widespread throughout the world and requires comprehensive approaches to prevent it.

UzA Correspondent spoke with Oliver Stolpe, UNODC Regional Representative for Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran and Pakistan, to discuss the processes surrounding this global issue in detail.

The organization is currently conducting a survey  to study drug use and attitudes toward their use among young people in Central Asia.
