At a meeting of the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Affairs, the Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the acceleration of market reform processes and Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization” was actively discussed.
The law introduces amendments and additions to the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On state duty” and “on licensing, permitting, and notification procedures”. These amendments provide for the introduction of licensing procedures for activities related to the procurement (purchase), processing, and sale of ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap and waste, as well as wholesale and retail trade in natural gas.

Senators noted that this law will help attract the private sector and innovations to the field, while also contributing to the creation of a competitive market environment.
