Specialists from public and non-governmental organizations of Uzbekistan took part in a training seminar held in Latvia.

The seminar was organized with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) of Latvia, and the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Participants included Jamshid Sharipov, Head of Department at the Development Strategy Center, as well as experts from the Agency for Strategic Reforms, and representatives from the Ministries of Economy and Finance, Investments, Industry and Trade, Digital Technologies, Preschool and School Education, Construction and Housing and Communal Services, Energy, the State Tax Committee, and the State Assets Management Agency.

According to the Development Strategy Center, the training focused on strengthening institutional capacity in strategic planning. Participants completed seven training modules on strategic planning, implemented within the framework of the project “Support for Capacity Building in the Public Administration System of Uzbekistan”. They studied Latvia’s experience in organizing strategic planning, the system of financing strategic programs, approaches to defining and evaluating performance indicators, and the involvement of civil society in these processes.

The acquired knowledge was reinforced through practical exercises, and all participants were awarded certificates.
