In Farghona, a seminar on issues of ensuring labour protection and industrial safety has taken place. This seminar was arranged by the Ozbekneftgaz (Uzbek oil and gas) national holding company. It was attended by the chiefs of enterprises of this system, officials of industrial safety and labour protection and workers of trade unions.

It was especially emphasized that decent working conditions had been created for people and that special attention was being paid to ensuring their socio-economic interests and protecting their health and rights.

During the seminar, there was discussion about the role of primary trade unions organizations at enterprises and establishments of the Ozbekneftgaz national holding company, the order of labour relations, the creation of convenient and safe working conditions for employees and the ensuring of labour protection and industrial safety.

“Labour protection is a very topical process of important significance, and people’s destinies and health depend on it. At this system’s enterprises, special attention is paid to creating conditions for people’s efficient work, protecting their labour and ensuring industrial safety. The further strengthening of employees’ social security and the ensuring of industrial safety are of important significance to raising productivity,” says Mirzoakbar Hakimov, chief of the industrial safety and labour protection department of the Ozbekneftgaz national holding company.

At the Farghona oil processing plant, too, specific work is being carried out to protect employees’ legitimate interests and rights and to improve their health. All the necessary conditions have been created in the plant’s workshops for people to work productively. Attention is constantly paid to providing material and moral support for young families. In the year 2014, new homes were built and provided for 30 young people. Privileges were provided for 174 employees to acquire houses built on the basis of standard projects in villages. The plant’s trade unions committee also pays special attention to working conditions. Workers are being sent to health resorts. Medical check-ups are conducted twice a year.

At the seminar, detailed information was given about conditions created at the Farghona oil processing plant for its employees to work productively and about work being carried out to ensure labour safety.
