On December 28, a Cooperation Agreement has been signed between the Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh and City University Malaysia, via videoconference.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the Karakalpak State University Atabek Alimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the City University Rosnizah Shaari, as well as deans and heads of departments from both higher education institutions.
The document provides for the cooperation of the domestic university with a Malaysian partner in the implementation of academic programs based on the franchising model, including the issuance of double diplomas and training according to 2+2 standards, organization of professional development courses for professors, teaching staff, student exchange, holding conferences and workshops, carrying out joint research, as well as publishing scientific articles and works.
Implementation of the joint project with City University will contribute to training highly qualified personnel by introducing advanced Malaysian experience, as well as attracting the teaching staff of this foreign university in the educational process.
Following the event, the parties agreed to implement an educational project by creating a joint faculty in tourism, architecture, and natural sciences, followed by considering the possibility of opening a full-fledged branch of a Malaysian university in the city of Nukus.
