Joint Uzbek-Japanese University to be established in Tashkent

Uzbekistan and Japan have signed an agreement to establish the Uzbek-Japanese University.

The University of Tsukuba will oversee the project's implementation, managing the academic part of the new higher education institution. Classes will be held in English and will follow the Japanese education model.

Initially, master’s programs will be introduced in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and business administration. Plans for bachelor’s and doctoral programs are upcoming, and students will be able to participate in short-term internships in Japan.

The university’s preparatory office in Tashkent will start operating in September, with the first group of master’s students expected to begin in the 2028/2029 academic year.
