Representatives of the People’s Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Uzbekistan participated in the International Trade-Economic Forum “Jizzakh 2024” in Zaamin.
Jizzakh region’s Hokim Ergash Saliyev informed participants about the economic potential and investment attractiveness of Jizzakh region, region’s leading drivers, conditions and opportunities created for foreign and local investors. It was noted that today Jizzakh region is increasingly strengthening friendly relations and cooperation with neighboring Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as a strategic partner of the People's Republic of China in industry, construction, agriculture, trade and economy.
There are about 250 joint ventures in Jizzakh region, 49 of them work in cooperation with China, 6 with Kazakhstan, 7 with the Kyrgyz Republic and 2 with Tajikistan.
In recent years, many agreements have been signed between the countries, which have served to develop foreign economic relations.
For eight months this year, Jizzakh region’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $1 billion 320 million, of which 578 million accounted for China, 46 – Kazakhstan, 7 – Tajikistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic.
Following the event, memoranda on the development of trade-economic cooperation were signed.
