Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture discussed the production of high-quality agricultural products and pest control methods with Japanese businesspeople specializing in the farming sector.

The guests were informed about the work carried out in Uzbekistan to develop agriculture, create a competitive business environment in the agricultural sector, and increase the industry’s investment attractiveness.

Proposals were put forward to establish in Uzbekistan the production of organic fertilizers that have successfully passed tests in Japan and are intended for growing rice and other legumes, to study and use the experience of Japan and the Philippines in the agricultural sector.

Japanese entrepreneurs noted that Uzbekistan has created favorable conditions for investors and, using specific examples, considered the possibilities of applying the experience of Japan and the Philippines in developing the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan, particularly rice growing.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct preliminary tests of organic fertilizers in research institutes under the Ministry of Agriculture and further cooperation.
