The 4th-year students of the Computer and Software Engineering Faculty Doston Mardiyev and Aziza Abdurakhmanova have created a Smart Mask.

According to IUT, the development is a reusable mask with replaceable inserts. It is equipped with three different sensors that respond to a person’s body temperature, cough and shortness of breath.

The mask connects to your phone via the mobile app. Sensors installed in the mask automatically send the recorded indicators to the smartphone. The app compares this data with the well-known symptoms of COVID-19. If there are matches, the app sends a signal.

COVID-19 has certain symptoms that differ from other viral infection: high temperature, dry cough, shortness of breath. If a person has a temperature of 38.5, coughs frequently and has difficulty in breathing, the app will signal that the owner of the mask has a suspicion of COVID-19.

The project is currently being finalized and tested.
