Inha University in Tashkent hosted roundtable discussion on prospects of cooperation of IT Park with suppliers of telecommunication services and equipment necessary for creating an effective IT infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbektelecom, mobile operators Ucell, Beeline, UMS, RWC, heads of telecommunications equipment manufacturing companies Huawei and ZTE, as well as specialists from the largest South Korea’s integrated wired and wireless telecommunications provider KT Corporation.

To apply the best practices of India in development of technology parks and support developers of software products, one of the best specialists of the Software Technology Parks of India, which has many years of experience in managing and developing similar centers and infrastructures, was hired as a consultant. STPI has already opened and supports the work of 57 technology parks in India.

A number of tax and customs benefits and preferences were provided to residents of the first IT Park in Uzbekistan. Necessary modern infrastructure was created for them, a convenient coworking center was equipped.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain dynamic cooperation and expand partnership in IT infrastructure.

Issues related to the state of ongoing joint projects were also discussed. Ways to further expand the portfolio of projects in Uzbekistan were developed.
