Tourism in Uzbekistan is actively developing, with new technologies being introduced and infrastructure being improved.
These topics were discussed at the roundtable on “Technologies and Services in Winter Sports and Tourism in Central Asia”, organized by the Tourism Committee with the support of the Trade Section of the Austrian Embassy in Tashkent.
It was noted that several infrastructure projects in tourism have been implemented. Specifically, in the Charvak tourist and recreational zone, several cable car systems (Chinorkent, Amirsoy) have been put into operation. Joint projects with Austrian companies are being carried out in Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, and Tashkent regions.
“Incorporating innovative technologies into the tourism sector is an important step for the industry’s development”, said Sardor Niyazov, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee. “Special attention is being given to improving the infrastructure of year-round recreational areas. This opens new opportunities for developing winter sports and tourism”.
During the roundtable discussion, participants addressed the implementation of modern technologies, improving the quality of tourism services, attracting international investments, and fostering cooperation with leading global companies in winter sports and winter tourism.
Experts emphasized the importance of actively exchanging experiences, particularly by considering Austria’s expertise in organizing winter tourism. Representatives of the Austrian delegation shared their perspectives on the development of mountain resorts.
