The Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhang Qingwei.

A wide range of issues were discussed within the framework of relations between Uzbekistan and China, particularly regarding further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

During the dialogue, views were exchanged regarding bilateral innovation and technological potential, in particular, the implementation of projects in automotive manufacturing, green energy, smart agriculture, and the production of water-saving technologies.

As one of the most essential areas of relations, attention was paid to developing interregional cooperation. In addition, a unanimous opinion was expressed on the need to develop cultural and humanitarian ties further, mainly in education, science and technology, culture, and tourism.

The parties emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments as the basis of a deep and mutually beneficial partnership, focused on activity in this direction, which has been especially pronounced in recent years, and the need to enrich relations with practical projects further.

An agreement was reached on intensifying visits by parliamentary delegations, as well as holding joint events, exchanging experience in exercising parliamentary control over the execution of local budgets, as well as further deepening cooperation in entrepreneurship development, poverty reduction, transition to a green economy, and protection of water resources.
