International cooperation in agriculture is an essential factor in ensuring food security, increasing export potential, developing science and attracting technology, and improving people’s well-being.
Within the framework of the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4), held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov met with the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of the Italian Republic Francesco Lollobrigida.

The parties discussed issues of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The Italian side invited the Uzbekistan delegation to attend the World Food Forum, to be held on October 14-18, 2025, in Rome under the auspices of FAO.

The sides also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in such areas as improving the agricultural insurance system, exchanging advanced technologies, and implementing joint projects.
During the summit, Mr. Abdurakhmonov met with the First Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations. During the dialogue, the Uzbek side emphasized the high level of organization of the current summit.
