The delegation of Uzbekistan included representatives of the President’s Administration, members of the government, heads of ministries and agencies, representatives of large companies, republican and regional business circles.

A meeting of entrepreneurs was held within the framework of the forum. Issues of increasing the export potential of the regions of the two countries, prospects of new economic zones in Uzbekistan, attraction of foreign investments were considered.

Interregional Cooperation Forum – foundation of strong relationship

Issues of investing in tourism and deepening cooperation in this sphere were discussed at the session devoted to analysis of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan. It was noted that partnership of the two countries is expanding in many areas, including in tourism. Thus, in ten months of this year, the number of tourists from Kazakhstan visiting Uzbekistan amounted a little less than two million people, which is 500 thousand more compared to the same period last year.

At the II meeting of Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan Business Council, memorandums of cooperation in the spheres of delivery of flour and grain products, automotive industry were signed.

Issues of introducing modern methods of growing and processing agricultural products, prospects for creating a unified system of standards, opening new transit directions for export, the practice of packaging and certification of products were considered in detail.

Within the framework of the forum, an exhibition of industrial and agricultural products of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was held. The opening ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Achilbay Ramatov and the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.

Contracts and memorandums were signed at the first forum of interregional cooperation of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, prospective agreements were reached between representatives of business circles of the two countries.
