On November 19-21, Uzbekistan will host the first International Tourism Investment Forum. The goal of the forum is to expand international cooperation in tourism development, attract direct investment and promote the country’s tourism potential.

According to the State Committee for Tourism Development, in the first 9 months of this year, the number of foreign visitors to Uzbekistan amounted to 4.4 million, which is twice more than the last year.

Introduction of a visa-free regime for 18 countries, a simplified regime for obtaining entry visas for 50 countries, as well as introduction of transit visas for 101 countries have become a significant impetus for development of tourism in Uzbekistan. In just three months of operation of E-visa system, about 19.5 thousand electronic visas were issued to citizens of 49 countries.

The forum will bring together more than 300 participants from 48 countries, including investors, representatives of international financial institutions and organizations in tourism sector, experts in tourism industry, heads of major domestic and foreign companies.

Within the framework of the event, it is planned to submit over 500 investment projects from all regions of Uzbekistan, including such projects as free tourism zones Charvak, Samarkand city, Qadimiy Bukhoro, small tourism zones in Surkhandarya region, as well as projects Olmazor City and Farg’ona yo’li of Tashkent city and many others.
