
Advisor to the Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council S. Karavaev and expert of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD) S. Tkachenko got acquainted with the activities of the territorial election commission of Tashkent region.
International observers examined the election stands in the building located in the city of Nurafshan, the map of the polls to the Tashkent Regional Council of People’s Deputies, the citizens’ reception room, the commission members’ room, the press center, and the created conditions.
The observers received detailed information from the Chairman of the Commission Ulugbek Tukhtayev, and its members about the preparation and organization of the elections at the local level and all the organizational work taking place these days.
In Tashkent region, 7 single-mandate constituencies have been formed for the elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the country’s party councils have nominated 35 candidates.
In the Council of People’s Deputies of Tashkent region, 60 election districts were formed, and 300 candidates from 5 parties were nominated. 530 seats have been allocated for deputy mandates in cities and districts, and candidates have been submitted. 1,006 polling stations have been created in the region.
