The National Library of Uzbekistan hosted an International Conference on “Innovative Library of the New Uzbekistan of the Third Renaissance”.
The event was organized as part of the Cultural Heritage Week “The Phenomenon of the Eastern Renaissance: States, Religions, Personalities and Civilizations” held in Uzbekistan.
As part of the event, an exhibition of unique exhibits dedicated to the rich historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan was organized.
They introduce visitors to the cultural heritage from the pre-Islamic era to the period of the Third Renaissance in New Uzbekistan.
The participants of the international conference spoke in detail about the development process of the information and library sphere outlined in the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, the creation of an electronic database of manuscripts stored in the funds of the Republic of Tajikistan and related to Uzbekistan’s history, and the project “Book Monuments”, using the experience of the Russian State Library as an example.
Presentations were made on the opportunities for long-term open access to digital cultural heritage created in the Qatar National Library, the introduction of new formats in library work through festivals and competitions, and the formation of library collections in modern conditions.
An exhibition “From Paper to Artificial Intelligence” was presented, and information was given on the digitalization of the rare collection of the library of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
