The Agency for International Cooperation and Development under the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held meetings with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank representatives to analyze the progress of projects implemented in Uzbekistan with the involvement of funds from international financial institutions.
At the meeting with the ADB, it was noted that the bank’s current portfolio in Uzbekistan consists of 21 projects worth $3.3 billion. These projects are being implemented in such socially significant areas as the improvement of settlements and infrastructure development, expanding the population’s access to clean drinking water and healthcare. The participants of the videoconference reviewed the progress of each project, including the point of view of the execution of network schedules at each stage of implementation.

Talks with the World Bank representatives were also held. To date, the bank is financing 28 projects in Uzbekistan worth $4.9 billion. They are implemented in agriculture and water management, transport, energy, urbanization, education and healthcare.
Participants of the meeting put forward several constructive proposals for improving project management processes, including the purchase of equipment and materials. The parties considered the prospects for further development of professional skills and knowledge of employees of ministries and agencies responsible for the implementation of projects.
