The foreign enterprise Indorama Agro LLC stands out for its innovative approach to agriculture. The company operates in four districts of Kashkadarya and Syrdarya regions, focusing on the development of agriculture.
The modern technologies introduced by this agro-cluster play a crucial role in conserving water resources, effectively managing farmland, and increasing yields. This is particularly vital for regions with limited water resources.
By implementing innovations in agriculture, particularly in cotton cultivation, the company has significantly increased crop productivity. To save water, the company has adopted laser leveling technology. For instance, it plans to cultivate cotton on 7,000 hectares in Nishon district by 2025, with 4,000 hectares prepared using laser leveling. So far, leveling has been completed on 1,400 hectares. This technology ensures even farmland, efficient water distribution, and higher yields.
The company has all the resources to efficiently organize its work, including three biological laboratories, three cotton processing plants, two logistics centers, and a fleet of agricultural machinery. Over 4,000 residents are employed full-time by the company.
The laser leveling practice used by Indorama Agro ensures vertical land alignment and optimizes water usage. Additionally, drip irrigation technology is planned to be implemented on 2,000 hectares by 2025. This method is essential for improving yields, providing precise and equal watering for each plant.
Laser leveling in the cluster is carried out using tractors like the “John Deere R9470”, “R9570”, and “R8345”. Moreover, modern drones are employed for spraying pesticides on cotton fields, operating efficiently as needed.
Since 2020, the cluster has leveled 19,000 hectares in Syrdarya and Kashkadarya regions. In 2024, drip irrigation was introduced on 1,500 hectares in Kashkadarya and 1,755 hectares in Syrdarya.
By 2024, Indorama Agro had invested $432 million, becoming one of Central Asia’s largest agro-clusters. The cluster covers 50,000 hectares, where cotton, grain, and other crops are cultivated.
The cluster’s water-saving technologies and laser leveling practices significantly contribute to developing the agricultural sector in Kashkadarya. These innovations not only conserve water resources but also enhance productivity and ensure food security in the region.
Recently, Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov visited Kashkadarya to review the outcomes of agricultural reforms and plans. During his visit to Nishon district, he familiarized himself with Indorama Agro LLC’s activities. He was briefed on plans to cultivate Chinese cotton seeds under the film and introduce drip irrigation on laser-leveled lands. According to cluster representatives, such innovations will save water and boost productivity.
In summary, using modern technologies, Indorama Agro LLC is opening up promising agricultural directions. Laser leveling and water-saving techniques enhance the quality of agricultural products and promote efficient resource use.
