Uzbekistan’s experience was considered at the international conference on “Implementation and monitoring Sustainable Development Goals: Supporting five Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan and Georgia”, in Tashkent.

The event, organized by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia, was attended by over 70 specialists of ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.

Deputy Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Gayrat Khidoyatov informed about the government’s resolution on measures of implementing sustainable development goals and objectives up to 2030, adopted on October 20, 2018.

At the meeting, along with directions of sustainable development for the period up to 2030, issues of Global Agenda were also discussed, in particular, the 16th goal – “Peace, justice and effective institutions” and the 3rd goal – “Good health and well-being” (indicators 3.3, 3.5 and 3.8), implementation of which requires a unified approach.

Participants exchanged views on implemented activities in sustainable development and upcoming current challenges. They were provided with recommendations on monitoring the achieved results and record keeping. At the same time, they received necessary information on best practices in development and implementation of strategies and programs for accelerating achievement of priorities.
