This issue was discussed at a meeting between the Acting Hokim of Samarkand region, Adiz Boboyev, historians, and representatives of the local intelligentsia.
“Samarkand is one of the oldest cities in the world, yet few places vividly showcase its rich history”, said the Hokim. “Comprehensive research has not been conducted on many areas, including the location of Amir Temur’s palace. We must restore the city’s history, discover and preserve archaeological sites”.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Mahmud Nasrullayev, Candidate of Historical Sciences, and Muminkhon Saidov, Director of the Samarkand Archaeological Institute, informed about archaeological sites and the burial places of significant historical figures, many of which have only been partially studied. Ideas for scientific research were proposed, and challenges that could hinder historical exploration were discussed.

Mr. Boboyev instructed that all proposals be thoroughly reviewed and emphasized the need for such meetings to be held on a regular basis.
