Although the Airitom International Trade Center was recently launched, it is becoming popular in the global business environment.
Businesspeople have visited here from Afghanistan, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Pakistan. It should be noted that an International Trade Center like Airitom has not yet been established near the border of any country neighboring Uzbekistan.
Airitom is located just a kilometer from the Hairatan Bridge on the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. First of all, Afghan citizens come here safely. The fact that openness in Uzbekistan has not only political, but also economic results can be seen in the example of this center. Its territory is 36 hectares, with 400 shops in four shopping blocks.
“There is a hotel, a medical clinic, and a training center here”, said Mirhamid Mirpulatov, Director of the Airitom International Trade Center. “Within the framework of this zone, entrepreneurs are exempt from customs duties on imported goods. About 300 stores have been leased to businesspeople of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. Transactions on the center’s territory are carried out in seven national currencies. Two banks are operating. Afghanistan people have no problem trading in dollars”.
“The center has a permit for a 15-day visa-free visit for Afghan citizens. The International Trade Center is expected to have a turnover of $1-1.2 billion per year. I enjoyed the conditions here. Therefore, I rented a store today and opened my own company”, said Dr. Giyosiddin.
