
There is a historic street in Luolong district of China’s Luoyang. This place combines national traditions with modern tourist services. It has a grotto with 400-year-old sculptures.
The city was built in 493 on the banks of the Yi River as the capital of the Qin Shi Huang Emperor of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The Longmen Caves contain over 2,300 grottoes and dungeons, more than 110,000 monuments, and 2,800 rock carvings. The statues range in size from 2 centimeters to 17 meters.
The most famous statue reaches 17.14 meters in height. More than 5 million tourists visit this Buddha statue every year.
