Bukhara hosted a celebration marking the People’s Friendship Day on July 30. It was attended by members of the Regional Council of People’s Deputies, representatives of the general public, national cultural centers, non-governmental non-profit organizations, and media staff.
As noted during the event, representatives of various nationalities have lived on this land since ancient times in peace, harmony, brotherhood, and solidarity. Today, in New Uzbekistan, interethnic harmony and tolerance are elevated to the level of national priorities. Representatives of more than 130 nations and ethnic groups are granted equal rights and broad opportunities to freely develop their culture, customs, traditions, and language.
Twelve national cultural centers are operating in Bukhara region. The activities of these centers play an essential role not only in strengthening the spiritual bridge between peoples but also in educating the younger generation in the spirit of love for the Motherland and respect for national and universal values.
As part of the celebration, a group of activists from national cultural centers and employees of partner organizations were awarded letters of appreciation and valuable gifts from the regional Hokimiyat for their contribution to strengthening interethnic relations.
