The heads of government visited SamAuto, the Samarkand Automobile Plant, which has been playing a key role in the development of the country’s transport infrastructure for more than 25 years. The company, founded in 1999, has produced over 40,000 pieces of equipment for passenger and freight transportation. Today, the plant’s production facilities enable the annual production of up to 5,000 buses in various configurations.
The company employs about 1,500 people. For equipment maintenance, the company offers a wide range of auto parts and accessories, and a network of dealers and service centers covers dozens of regions.
In addition, today the delegations visited the showroom of SAG (Sam Antep Gilam) – the largest carpet and textile production holding in Central Asia. The company's production facilities produce over 12 million square meters of carpets annually, and the range includes thousands of products in various densities and designs.
It was noted that the company’s products were also available on the Belarusian market through retail chains and marketplaces, indicating the progressive development of bilateral trade and economic ties.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan and Belarus maintain an active political dialogue, expand interregional cooperation, and increase mutual trade turnover, which is approaching $1 billion. Currently, more than 200 organizations with Belarusian capital participation operate in Uzbekistan.
