
The Director of the Agency for Technical Regulation of Uzbekistan, Akmal Jumanazarov, met in Berlin with the Executive Director of the German Eastern Business Association, Michael Harms.
The meeting featured a comprehensive exchange of views on eliminating technical trade barriers to increase the volume of mutual trade, expanding the range of export products to European countries under the GSP+ system, and further developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation in technical regulation and standardization.
Interest was expressed in the joint implementation of green energy and IT projects, based on German companies’ advanced experience. A corresponding document was signed with the German Eastern Business Association.

A meeting was also held with Tobias Scheffter, Deputy Director of the Federal Institute of Physics and Technology, during which discussions focused on developing a new quality infrastructure project. Topics included retraining specialists, enhancing standardization efficiency, metrology, conformity assessment, and accreditation, as well as the Global Quality Infrastructure Index and the active involvement of German experts in these processes.

The Uzbekistan delegation became acquainted with the operations of the metrological laboratories at the Federal Institute of Physics and Technology. Following the meeting, an agreement was signed to implement the project titled “Support for Reforming the National Quality Infrastructure and Development of Services for Uzbekistan’s Economy” during the period of 2025-2028.
Important meetings were held with representatives of Hohenstein Laboratories GmbH & Co. KG, located in Stuttgart, and the Certification and Testing Institute in Frankfurt.


An agreement was reached on cooperation in the testing of textile and electrical engineering products, as well as the organization of training programs for specialists of the Agency.
