
Uzbekistan’s experience in developing and implementing effective mechanisms for monitoring women’s rights was presented at the event on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Geneva.
According to the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a Regional Forum on Sustainable Development was held in Geneva under the theme: “Advancing Sustainable, Inclusive, Science- and Evidence-based Solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs in the ECE region, Leaving no one Behind”.
The event brought together leading experts, politicians, and representatives of international organizations to discuss key challenges and solutions to gender equality.

Ms. Dilnoza Muratova, Deputy Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, addressed the first panel on the use of gender data for policy formation. Her presentation focused on Uzbekistan’s experience in developing and implementing effective mechanisms for monitoring women’s rights and their economic and social integration.
Uzbekistan’s representative emphasized the importance of an integrated approach in implementing gender policy, as well as the need to develop legislative and institutional reforms to protect the rights of women and girls.
Mechanisms that can ensure long-term sustainability and political commitment to gender equality were also presented.
The discussion was attended by representatives of other countries, including Armenia, Albania, Spain, Austria, and Moldova, as well as specialists from international organizations such as UN Women and UNFPA.

Special attention was paid to the exchange of best practices and the analysis of current challenges in gender equality.
A video clip from Uzbekistan was also shown during the event, telling the real stories of women who have achieved success through government support programs. This was part of the global Unstoppable campaign aimed at promoting best practices for achieving gender equality.
The event concluded with a discussion on promising steps and international cooperation to accelerate progress toward achieving SDG No. 5. The participants expressed their readiness for further cooperation and the exchange of experiences in women’s rights and sustainable development.
