From the classroom to production: students at Bukhara Technical University complete an internship at Asia Trans Gas
At the beginning of June, 24 students from Bukhara State Technical University completed an industrial internship at JV Asia Trans Gas LLC. This practical trip, which connects the campus and the enterprise, became not only a vivid example of joint personnel training by a university and an enterprise, but also a significant expansion of energy cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the field of personnel training.
Today, as the global energy structure undergoes profound transformations, the qualitative development of the oil and gas industry is impossible without the support of highly qualified specialists. As an exemplary enterprise for energy cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, JV Asia Trans Gas LLC understands that personnel is the primary driver of the industry’s sustainable development. Implementing this practical program is an important step for the company in fulfilling its social obligations in Uzbekistan. By creating a platform for joint innovation across science, education, and production, the enterprise transforms advanced technologies and practical experience into resources for personnel training, providing a continuous intellectual impetus for the modernization of the region’s energy sector.

On the first day of the internship, students met with ATG management, opening a learning path that blends theory and practice. During the 14-day internship, students visited the Technical Affairs section of BMGMC, the Repair & Maintenance Center, and the laboratory, and participated in specialized training sessions on industrial safety, equipment operation and maintenance, production processes, and other topics. Experienced ATG specialists, drawing on real cases, transformed abstract theoretical knowledge into practical skills that will help students expand their practical knowledge in the future.

Digital transformation is an important trend in the development of the modern energy industry and a key part of this practice. Students visited the General Control Center, where they familiarized themselves with the principles of real-time monitoring of the gas pipeline system, studied operators’ work processes, and explored the capabilities of modern automation and dispatch systems. This enabled future industry specialists to understand the important role of digital technologies in the development of the energy sector and in ensuring energy security.

Practical familiarization at the WKC-2 compressor station allowed the students to clearly understand the operating principles of key production units. Here, students were able not only to familiarize themselves with compressor units, automation systems, and other important equipment but also to communicate with ATG technical specialists. During the practical sessions, company employees explained in detail the operating principles of the compressor units, automation systems, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
During the internship, the enterprise also provided students with a platform to communicate with industry experts. Students discussed professional development opportunities, industry-wide technological trends, and other topics with experts, laying a solid foundation for their future careers.

The successful implementation of this internship program, based on university-enterprise cooperation, provided students at Bukhara State Technical University with a valuable practical opportunity that will help them in their future professional activities. In the future, Asia Trans Gas will continue to deepen cooperation with universities, explore diverse models of personnel training, provide reliable personnel support for the sustainable development of the region’s energy sector, and create even brighter pages in the history of energy cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
